Strands
Beyond the Institution
This strand targets consortia, state, national and international leaders and policymakers, and educators interested in examining the issues, ideas and best practices with implications for the higher education enterprise, not specific to a particular institution. Special emphasis is on partnerships and consortia, as well as system, regional, state, national and international activities and other topics, such as Open Education Resources that extend beyond the campus.
Innovative Applications of Technologies
This strand targets technology leaders and innovators and reflects the current hot topics, new applications and technology services that are becoming pivotal to teaching and learning. It explores the how and why new technologies provide both opportunities and challenges to e-learning education.
Institutional Models for Success
This strand focuses on the high level administrative, management and policy issues that institutional leaders address to promote the broad adoption of technology-based and technology-enhanced education. With e-learning becoming more mainstream and as institutions realign shrinking resources , new models and structures for program management, technology decisions, academic partnerships, funding, and communications become critical.
Sponsorship Strand
Sponsors contribute to the conference to help the event remain viable and so the registration rates can remain as low as possible. Sponsors are invited to put together sessions involving panelists that use the applications of their tools or services to effectively advance technology in education and student success. Student Success
This strand targets student services staff members and providers and focuses on support for students enrolled in e-learning courses and programs. Services may be explored from the perspective of faculty, students and/or administration. Issues such as retention and student support are discussed.
Teaching and Learning Success
This strand targets faculty members, leaders and instructors and focuses on the needs of faculty and those who support faculty. The goal is to explore how e-learning improves the teaching and learning experiences via enhanced student-learning outcomes, increased student engagement, or more efficient or lower cost offerings.
WCET Strand
The WCET strand includes sessions organized by WCET staff interested in bringing together experts on specific topics.
